Meatloaf

meatloaf1

This is one of those Items that has a recipe from everyone that prepares it. The inclusion of this meatloaf recipe is for those that have never cooked a meatloaf and want to see the steps involved.

These are the ingredients that I use for a good tasting meatloaf. The onion soup mix is not only optional but, customizable by substitution.

I start by combining the turkey and the beef. I use turkey to minimize the amount of fat in the recipe.

I add in the onion soup mix, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, one egg and, I thouroughly mix these ingredients. Then, I add the crushed crackers and fold the crumbs into the meat mixture until evenly distributed.

I put the ball of meat into a roasting pot, cover the surface of the meatloaf with a coating of ketchup about 1/4 inch thick and, I put the covered pot into a 350 degree oven for one hour. After an hour, remove the cover from the pot and cook an additional 10 minutes and the meatloaf is ready to serve. Man, that looks good don't it ?
