This is an old school recipe I learned 30 years ago from my mother. The recipe is a perfect base for customization. I hope you find it as pleasing as we have.

The ingredients are simple and uncomplicated just brown sugar, sweet potatos, butter or margarine, chicken boullion and vanilla extract.

I wash and peel the sweet potatos and slice them into slivers about a 1/4 inch thick so that the syrup can penetrate the potatos thouroughly. I then layer the potatos in a skillet.

I add 3 slices of butter or margarine, 1 cup of water, 1 teaspoon of chicken bullion and then I cover the potatos with about 1 pound of brown sugar. I set the skillet to simmer about 30 minutes.

After the liquid reduces to a syrup, about 30 minutes, try to refrain from sampling the product, it may not make it to the table ;-)
Mark 9:35
Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, "If anyone wants
to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."
